Hey! I gotta question for ya. Are you a perfect person? Well, while you're thinking about it, let me tell you what God says.
As it is written: "There is no one righteous, not even one; (Romans 3:10)
and
"..for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," (Romans 3:23)
All that to say, there are no perfect or sinless people - including you or me!
Well, - - have you come up with an answer yet? While you're still thinking it through,
let's see what God says about those who have sinned.
For the wages of sin is death... (Romans 6:23a)
Wages means the payment or that which we have earned.
That means the payment or reward for our sin is eternal punishment and separation from God, and spending eternity in hell.
But Hey! Don't give up! Get this. The Bible also tells that God
did not give up on us.
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this:
While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)
Sound too good to be true? Well it is true! While it is true that
the wages of sin is death, that verse goes on to say,
"...but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23b)
The fact is, we could never work hard enough or be good enough
to save ourselves - God had to do it for us.
The Good News is God hasn't left us without the hope of forgiveness!
God's word reminds us of our hope:
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,
that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)
Dear young person, God's word promises forgiveness to everyone
and anyone who will trust in Jesus and receive Him as Lord and Savior.
Yet to all who received him, to those
who believed in his name,
he gave the right to become children of God. (John 1:12)
he gave the right to become children of God. (John 1:12)
Will you trust Jesus now and receive
Him as
you personal Savior?
A sample prayer you can pray:
Dear God, thank you for sending Your Son to die on the cross to pay for my sins.
I trust Jesus now and receive Him as my Lord and Savior.
Thank you for loving me and saving me.
In Jesus' name. Amen!
